Wining and Dining Around the World.

The question is often asked. Is drinking a benefit to your health? The answer has to be yes, when it comes to drinking with a gourmet meal, especially for wine snobs like my wife and I.

Wine and Pizza

A homemade vegetarian pizza paired with a bottle
of Gode’ II, an Italian wine. Not a bad start to a
Friday evening. This is typical in my house.
Hopefully we had a good movie to watch as well. I
seem to remember that we had a great time, as I
had just received the pizza pan for Christmas from
my Sister in Law. This was night, and so a flash
was used to light the shot.

Boston

Boston

In the above two afternoon photos, my wife and I
celebrate her birthday in the Back Bay of Boston,
Massachusetts. The food she is about to eat look
perfect to go with the red wine.

I enjoy a beet and goat cheese salad with my
wine, though it looks like I’ve made quite a dent
in my glass already. I highly recommend this idea
for a meal. The background was blurred.

Kittery

Some Chardonnay awaits a lobster on the river in
Kittery, Maine. The glass sparkles with
anticipation of a buttery treat on a late summer
afternoon.

The lobster has arrived and it appears that we have moved from white to red whine in the meantime. The smile on Kelly’s face indicates approval of the situation.

Lobster was a regular treat for us each season, as we are both from Maine. Little did we know at that time that within a year or two we would be moving away from where lobster was macrobiotic dieters must.

Thanksgiving

The season changes and it is already Thanksgiving again. What better to go with a turkey dinner than a bit of bubbly Chardonnay on a dark afternoon? Actually, this looks like a well balanced and healthy Thanksgiving plate of food eaten in the light of a candle.

Vancouver

When visiting Vancouver, BC, Canada, we apparently switched from wine to beer. This brew looks like a meal in itself. I’m pretty sure that this was all we had for our last meal on this trip. The local beer and wine are a must when visiting this beautiful region. It was late afternoon.

Nashville

In January of this year, my wife and I moved to Oregon from New Hampshire. In the above photo, I am enjoying some music on music row in Nashville Tennessee while trying out a local beer. The beer was good, but the music and nightlife
was the attraction there.

Now, we enjoy beer and wine with great food in Oregon. Later this month, we will celebrate our tenth anniversary of marriage. We plan on staying over night in Portland Oregon so as to further our culinary arts studies.
