ABOUT ME
Kevin Ronkko dining in Boston
I was always naturally artistic as a child. As a result, I have spent my life pursuing the study of the arts in various forms. These forms include music, illustration, web design, writing, photography, and staying current with technology.
As a young man, I was fortunate enough to be able to study the art of drums and percussion with drumming greats Dick Demers, royal hartigan, and jazz legend Joe Morello. Also, I was able to study with students of such jazz greats as Max Roach, Alan Dawson, and Ed Blackwell. I am a member of The Vic Firth Education Team as a result of these studies. For those who want to learn jazz drumming, I have a few open slots left.
I have just recently earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interactive Media Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. My other degrees are an Associates in General Studies from Granite State College and a degree in Graphic arts Technology from Central Maine Community College.
Currently, I am working as a jazz musician, a professional web designer, and a full time employee on a design team at HP in Corvallis, Oregon. My book, The Singing Drummer: add vocals to your beat, is available on Amazon.com and some of my original music is for sale on iTunes as well.
I am looking forward to learning new things about all of the aspects of art, technology, and life and hope to contribute whatever I am able in the future.
